PWN Paris Galette des Reines 2019

28 January 2019

La Galette des Reines was the first 2019 PWN major afterwork event, and took place on January 23rd. This year, Kenzo hosted us in its beautiful Raspail boutique located in the 7th arrondissement.

One hundred of us gathered under the impressive canopy, to enjoy a glass of champagne by Virginie T. and a slice of galette by Sam Pepper.

The evening started with casual networking, where members, new joiners and guests took the opportunity to catch up and get to know one another.

Some of us even enjoyed a bit of shopping – indeed, the boutique was open for business and Kenzo’s staff was happy to take care of us, their guests.

2019 was officially launched with a welcoming speech from our Co-President, Françoise Derolez. She wished everyone a fantastic new year, thanked our sponsors and reminded us of this year’s PWN theme – "Talents and Jobs of tomorrow". Our congress "Talent, value yours", on June 12th, will be the opportunity to bring together experts, speakers, managers, HR and have them share their thoughts and ideas on this topic.

Kenzo Raspail’s director, Xavier Decau, proudly presented the famous fashion brand, and shared the story of its Raspail store – how a former Renault garage became the fashionable Kenzo boutique.

Corinne Albert, Events Team VP, presented PWN Paris’ upcoming events; notably, the Speaker Dinner with Beatrice Lazat (February 7th),  the “Lead your maternity at work” workshop-debate (February 13th) and the upcoming Women’s Day (March 12th) [lien si info pour ouvrir event d'ici publication]

Finally, Virginie Améaume, Events Team member, introduced the next City-Trip to Bucharest, in April.

Later in the evening, we all took part in the traditional gift draw. 3 participants were lucky to hear their name and receive a gift from our sponsors, Kenzo and Virginie T. champagne.

As a break between the speeches and the awaited galette, we all had a great time listening to the Lèwé4 Gospel group singing acapella. Their interpretation of “Stand by me” captivated the audience which went on to dancing and singing along with the group on the following song, “When the Saints Go Marching In”.

Lèwé4 Gospel will be performing at Le temple protestant des Batignolles on March 16th. Don’t miss their show!
